Talk to us

As a nation, we give so much to charities every year and yet there are surprisingly few resources out there to support us in our philanthropic giving. Charizone is here to change that.

Frequently asked questions

  • Are you a charity?

Charizone is not a charity itself. We are a mission-driven organisation, set up as a limited company, focused on achieving our purpose while ensuring financial sustainability, all while maintaining the highest standards of governance and sustainability.

Why? Our goal is to strengthen the charity sector by providing the infrastructure needed to drive meaningful change, not to be a charity ourselves. As an online technology and information company, we follow sound and responsible business principles to ensure we deliver value to the donors and charities that use our platform, as well as to the sector as a whole. This model allows us to stay true to our mission, deliver excellence, and remain flexible and scalable as we grow.

  • What data sources do you use?

We use a variety of accessible and reliable sources recognised in the sector, all of which need to meet our data standards.

Right now, we pull data from:

    • Charity Commission for England and Wales
    • Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator
    • The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland
    • Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies
    • Companies House
    • Fundraising Regulator
    • Funders publishing data using the 360Giving Data Standard
    • Social Media sites
    • Charity's websites

For the Charizone Charity Performance Framework Report, we also use publicly available data found on charity websites, annual reports, and other publications. You can find more details on this in [insert link or section].

We're always looking to add more sources, so if you have any suggestions, please get in touch!

  • What charities coverage do you have at the moment?

At the moment, we're focusing on charities registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. This is because the reporting requirements there are more detailed, allowing us to provide you with richer, more comprehensive information.

Although we also have access to the registers for Scotland and Northern Ireland, charities registered exclusively in those regions may have incomplete data compared to those in England and Wales. We aim to offer the most accurate and complete information possible.

  • Do you recommend charities?

We don’t make charity recommendations, but we provide comprehensive, reliable data to help you make informed decisions about where to give. By making essential information more accessible, we empower donors and funders to give with confidence.

We use data to strengthen collaboration between funders and charities and build trust-based, long-term relationships that drive meaningful, scalable impact.

  • Are you a grant management software?

We support philanthropic efforts by providing data.

For organisations without dedicated tools, we help them build, manage, and track their charitable portfolios, ensuring they have the necessary data to make informed and confident decisions.

For those already using grant management softwares, our data integrates seamlessly with most software through our API, enhancing their existing capabilities. If you have a specific system in place, get in touch, and we’ll see how we can support your existing setup.

  • What’s the Cost: Subscriptions, Prices, or Free Options?

We aim to provide comprehensive solutions tailored to your needs. Pricing depends on the offering you choose—whether it’s a subscription, integration, reports, or a combination of these—and how you plan to use the platform. We avoid publishing specific pricing online to ensure each plan is personalised to your requirements.

To receive a custom quote, simply reach out to us. We'll discuss your needs and provide a plan that aligns with your budget and goals.

To help you experience the value of Atlas before committing, we also offer a free trial, so you can explore its benefits firsthand.

  • How often do you update the data?

We aim to use the most accurate and up-to-date data available.

Our data from Charity regulators like the Charity Commission is updated every day. Other information may be updated less regularly depending on the source.

  • Who is Charizone for?

Charizone works with both sides of the funding landscape

We work with philanthropic institutions and advisors who face the challenge of selecting and engaging with the *right* charities.

We provide charities with independent insights to enhance transparency and build trust, helping them achieve lasting impact.

One day, we want Charizone to be for everyone—making informed giving accessible to all.
